SO DataDirector for SuperOffice CRM 5
DataDirector enables the possibility to disable rights for each individual user that uses either CRM 5 for Windows or CRM5.web. Rights are synchronized to (Remote) Travel users and Satellites and can be configured from the central database.
DataDirector consists of three separate applications.
1. DataDirector – Setup, the database setup application
2. DataDirector – Admin, the configuration application (like CRM 5 Admin)
3. DataDirector – Component, the component that holds the logic
DataDirector – Setup
is used to create tables that hold the configuration of the DataDirector Groups,
DataDirector Rules and the user configuration. The setup application will also import
initial data or can be used to update the initial data after an update of the software
components.
If DataDirector will no longer be used, the setup application has an option to delete the
tables that are created during setup.
This application is installed with DataDirector Admin.
DataDirector – Admin
is used to configure the DataDirector Groups and activation of the DataDirector
Component for each user. A short description of this application can be found in chapter
Configuration on page 7.
This application is installed on every computer that is used by the application
administrator. The application can only be run by a super user
(SuperOffice User Level 0).
DataDirector – Component
is the actual component (dynamic link library or DLL file) that creates and judges the
data that a user is calling for in SuperOffice CRM 5. Based on the rules that are activated
for the user, the component enables viewing, editing, inserting and deleting the data.
Rules can be activated for the following cards or most fields of these cards.
· Contacts
· Persons
· Projects
· Sales
· Appointments
· Documents
All data requested by the user by performing a search, selecting a card (e.g. a person
card) or switching user from the diary will pass through the DataDirector Component and
will be judged. Unavoidably this has some influence on the performance of CRM 5, either
if the Windows or the web client is used. A lot of rules mean a lot of judging and that
means performance will suffer, but… this is how it works. Keep this in mind while
configuring the DataDirector Groups.
This component is installed on every computer that runs CRM 5 for Windows and on
every computer that runs CRM5.web.
